Terms of use

These are the terms you accept by using listWright. They are written to be read, not skimmed past, and they say what this service is, what it is not, and where the responsibility sits when something goes wrong.

In what follows, "we" and "us" mean whoever operates this instance, and "you" means whoever is using it.

We are not connected to any marketplace

listWright is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, certified by, or a partner of Etsy, eBay, Shopify, Amazon, or any other marketplace, platform or payment provider. We are not their agent, their reseller, or an approved or legal partner of any kind. No relationship of that sort exists, and nothing on this site should be read as claiming one.

Etsy, eBay, Shopify and every other name used here is the trademark of its owner. They are named only to describe what the output of this tool is intended to be used for. That is nominative use, and nothing more. Those companies have no involvement in this service, no responsibility for it, and no say in what it produces.

Nothing here gives you rights against those companies, and nothing they publish gives you rights against us. Your relationship with a marketplace is governed by that marketplace's own terms, which you are responsible for reading and following. That includes their developer and API terms where you have connected a shop: the connection is made with your own account and your own permission, so their rules about it apply to you.

What the service does

You give it products, three ways: upload a spreadsheet, type them into a form, or connect a shop and import the listings you already have. For each product, listing copy is written (a title, a description and tags) and then checked against the limits recorded for the category. You get the results back on a run page, field by field to copy, and as a CSV file to download.

Without a connected shop, it reads a file and writes a file. It has no access to your shop, holds no marketplace credentials, publishes nothing, and cannot change or delete a listing you already have.

If you connect a shop

Connecting is optional, it starts switched off, and you are the one who turns it on. You grant it on the marketplace's own website. We never ask for, receive or store your marketplace password. You can disconnect it here at any time, which deletes the stored tokens, and you can revoke it from the marketplace whenever you like, which works whether or not you tell us.

What we will write, and only when you ask. Publishing sends a title, a description and tags to one listing, at the moment you press publish on that product. We do not change a price, a quantity, a photograph, a shipping setting or an order, and we do not publish on a schedule or in bulk without you. A product that is not already a listing in your shop is created as a draft and is not put on sale.

What is published is still yours. Pressing publish is your instruction to change your own listing, and you are responsible for what it says, exactly as you would be for a file you imported by hand. Read the copy before you press it. Once it is live, the version that was there before is not something this service can bring back: the marketplace holds your listing, we do not hold a copy of what it used to say, and undoing a change is done in the marketplace.

Nothing about the connection is a guarantee. A marketplace can change its API, throttle it, refuse a request, or withdraw an app's access, and any of those can stop importing or publishing working with no notice to us. That is covered by the same "as is" terms as the rest of the service.

The copy is generated, and you are the one who reviews it

The listing copy is produced by an automated system, in most deployments a large language model. Output of that kind can be wrong. It can state something about a product that is not true, describe a material or a measurement incorrectly, repeat a phrase you have no right to use, or simply be poor writing.

The validation step checks structural rules: how long a title may be, how many tags, how long each tag, and characters that would break a spreadsheet import. It does not check whether the copy is accurate, whether it is legal to make a particular claim about your product, whether it infringes anybody's trademark or copyright, or whether a given marketplace will accept it. A listing marked as validated has passed the structural check and nothing more.

You are responsible for reading what comes back before you publish it, and for everything you publish. If a claim needs to be true, check that it is.

What you upload

You must have the right to upload what you upload, and to have copy generated from it. Do not upload other people's product data, personal information about anybody, or anything you are not free to hand over.

You keep ownership of what you upload and of the copy generated from it. We store both in order to run the service. The privacy notice describes exactly what is kept, and the one place product data is sent onward.

Do not use the service to produce listings for anything illegal, to impersonate somebody else's shop or brand, or to generate copy at a volume or in a manner meant to overwhelm the service or a marketplace.

Your account

One person is responsible for each account. Keep your password to yourself; anything done through a live session on your account is treated as done by you, including publishing to a shop you have connected. If you think somebody else has your password, change it. That signs out every other session and revokes the account's API keys. If a shop is connected, disconnect it as well, and revoke the access at the marketplace.

Credits and payment

Use is metered in credits. One credit is one product generated. A product whose row has not changed since it was last generated is skipped and not charged. A credit is spent when the copy is written, whether or not the result passes validation. The work was done either way.

Prices are shown on the pricing page in Canadian dollars and may change; a change applies from the next period, not retroactively. Subscriptions are handled by Stripe, and subscribing, changing plan, updating a card and cancelling all happen in Stripe's portal. Credits are a metering unit. They are not currency, not property, and not refundable for cash, and they do not carry over unless we say so in writing.

The service is provided as it is

listWright is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, that generated copy will be accurate, original, compliant or effective, that a marketplace will accept any listing made from it, or that using it will produce sales, rankings, traffic or any other commercial result.

Some places do not allow warranties to be excluded. Where that is so, this section applies as far as it may and no further, and it does not take away a right you have as a consumer under the law where you live.

What we are not liable for

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damages arising out of your use of this service. That includes, without limiting it:

Where liability cannot be excluded entirely, our total liability for all claims taken together is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the three months before the event, or fifty Canadian dollars.

This section does not exclude liability for anything that cannot lawfully be excluded, such as fraud, or death or personal injury caused by negligence, and it does not remove consumer rights that apply where you live regardless of what a contract says.

You cover claims that come from what you publish

If somebody brings a claim against us because of what you uploaded or what you published from the output, you agree to cover the reasonable cost of dealing with it. This is limited to claims arising from your own use of the service, and it does not apply to anything caused by us.

This is not legal or professional advice

Nothing on this site is legal, tax, accounting or professional advice. Not the copy it generates, not the validation results, not the help page, not this one. Marketplace policies and the laws about product claims and advertising differ by country and change over time. If a decision matters, take advice from somebody qualified in your jurisdiction.

Ending it

You may stop using the service at any time, and you can delete your account yourself from the account page, which removes everything belonging to it. We may suspend or close an account that is being used to break these terms, to attack the service, or in a way that puts the service or other users at risk. Where it is reasonable to do so we will say why first.

Changes to these terms

The date at the top is when this was last changed. If a change materially affects you, continuing to use the service after it takes effect is how it is accepted; if you do not accept it, stop using the service.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the place the operator is based. Where the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim locally, this does not take that away.

If a part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest of it still stands.
