Free shop audit

See why your shop is not getting the sales

Paste a listing you already have. It gets checked against the rules of the marketplace it is going to: titles over the limit, tags that break, slots left empty, fields that will be refused on import. No account, no email, nothing to install. It costs nothing and it generates nothing.

Separated by commas, the way your shop shows them.

What the file should look like

What it actually checks

Structure. Not taste. Every one of these is a fact about the file, which is why the answer is the same every time you run it.

Pick the marketplace when you run it. Scoring an Etsy file against eBay's 80 characters would report most of a healthy shop as broken, which is a good way to make somebody panic over nothing.

The thing most shops are losing

Etsy gives you thirteen tag slots. Most listings use about eight. Those five are not a mistake and nothing will flag them as one, but they are searches you are not turning up in, on a shop you already built. The audit counts them across the whole file so you can see the size of it.

There is more on fitting a real phrase into 20 characters, which is where most of those slots go to die.

What it will not tell you

Whether your photographs are any good. Whether your prices are right for your market. Whether the thing you are selling is something people want. A checker reads strings in a file. It has no idea what your shop looks like, and this page never touches it: no account, no connection, nothing but the text you paste in.

So a clean report is not a promise of sales. It means the structure is sound: the titles fit, the tags are legal, and nothing would be refused at an import screen. That is the floor, not the ceiling. It is worth knowing you are standing on it.

Nothing is stored. What you paste is scored in the answer to that one request and kept nowhere: no account is made, no products are created, and no listing of yours is changed. This page has no shop connection behind it and cannot have one. Sellers with an account can connect an Etsy shop if they choose to, and even then a listing only changes when they press publish on it. The same is true of a file here, which is read, scored and dropped.

Then what

Fix the rows in your own spreadsheet and check it again. Checking is free every time. If you would rather have the copy rewritten, that is what an upload does, and that is the part that costs a credit. A new account starts with 25 of them and no card.

Create a free account What it costs after that

One pasted listing needs nothing at all, which is what the form at the top of this page is. Checking a whole spreadsheet needs a free account, and that is only so a stranger cannot post 32 MiB files at this server all afternoon.
