Score your listing against ours

Tell us about one product. If you already have it listed, paste that listing in too. We score what you have out of 100, write a new listing for the same product, and score that the same way. Same rubric both sides, and you can see every point.

1. The product

2. The listing you have now optional

Copy it out of your shop. Leave it blank if this product is not listed yet and we will just score ours. Nothing you paste here is sent to the writer, so it cannot end up copied back at you. It is only scored.

3. Where to send it

We email a six digit code to check the address is yours, then send the finished listing there as well so you still have it after you close this tab. It comes from [email protected], which some inboxes file as junk. One free listing per address.

How the score works

It is arithmetic, not an opinion. Five checks, adding up to 100, and every one of them counts something in the text rather than judging how it reads: how much of the 140 character title Etsy gives you is used, how many distinct words are in it, how many of the 13 tag slots are filled, whether any tag breaks a rule, and how long the description runs.

Your listing goes through the same function ours does. If yours comes out higher, the page says so. That happens: a listing somebody has already worked on can beat a first draft, and a scorer that could not lose would not be worth showing you.

Your photographs are yours. listWright does not look at them, does not describe them, and does not score them, so a good number here is a floor rather than a promise: it means the fields a buyer searches are filled and nothing will be refused at the import screen. The pictures are still the thing that sells the product, and that part is your job.
